The Telework Consortium Appoints Rita Mace Walston
As Executive Director

Leesburg, Va. – Jan. 8, 2007 – The Telework Consortium, an organization to discover, evaluate and demonstrate software, hardware, and services to enable remote work and collaboration, today announced that Rita Mace Walston has been appointed as Executive Director of the organization. As Executive Director, Ms. Walston will help drive the organization’s strategic plan, aid in development of new remote working implementations and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Consortium.

“Rita has long been a valued member of our team,” said William Mularie, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of the Telework Consortium. “In her new role she will continue to contribute to our leadership and business development pool as we strive to enhance our remote working and collaborative technology initiatives and begin the transition towards a for-profit business model.”

In addition to previously serving as the Telework Consortium’s general manager, Ms. Walston was managing editor of Loudoun Magazine. She has also written and edited for About.com, Jacksonville Business Journal, Jacksonville Woman and PlanetClick.com. Ms. Walston began her career with a Michigan media market research company, working with such firms as Knight-Ridder, Cowles Media Company, and AT&T in developing and overseeing pilot programs for videotex—the precursor to the publicly available Internet. She also worked in the market research department of Prodigy, a venture of IBM, CBS and Sears.
